Today, while trekking around dreary New York City, we had a thought: what we’d do for a cozy fireplace to sit in front of a room with a crackling fire and walls lined with old books, the smell of musty paper just hinting at the tips of our nose. What we’d do to sit with a great big book (sorry, Kindle) and a big glass of red wine, our feet tucked under our knees, wrapped in our favorite throw blanket. This kind of weather makes us yearn for the warmth of darker, moodier spaces – peppered with overstuffed leather armchairs and industrial lighting and brightly burning candles. We’ve pretty much given up hope of ever having a working fireplace in our apartment while we live here in NYC, but here’s what we can hope for: a library like the ones below. One stacked with books from floor to ceiling. A place where we could shut off our phones and lose ourselves in a book. Sounds lovely, doesn’t it? Here’s the libraries we’re crushing on today.
