We've been very into the global bazaar look in our home lately – we've found ourselves incorporating more funky fabrics, including suzanis, Moroccan wedding blankets, ikat, and the like. There's nothing like having a little pattern party on your couch with pillows, but a little bit of Pinteresting led us to our newest obsession: incorporating the global bazaar style into our kitchen by adding a kilim rug or two. While we've got a bunch of great kilim pieces at KKH, we don't yet carry rugs. Lest you think the fact that we ourselves don't carry them would stop us from obsessing over this new trend, we've compiled a few of our favorite inspiration shots of kilim rugs in the kitchen. The best thing about this look? It's not at all limited to one design style. The kitchens below range from light and bright country cottage rooms to dark and moody spaces with black subway tile. There are modern homes and quirky homes, homes that belong to celebrities and homes that belong to mere mortals. Kilim rugs, it seems transcend all design boundaries. They work in a variety of spaces (we also love them in the bathroom!), and are the perfect way to add a pop of color to what can sometimes become a slightly so-so design space.
