Is there anything better than a beach getaway? We think not, especially in the dead of winter. Is it just us, or has this winter season been exceptionally rough? We're craving warm summer sunshine, sand between our toes, a good read, some extra strong sunscreen and the biggest beach towel we can find…and of course, a trip to the beach house of our dreams. If we had our way, we'd have a home right by the water, a place where we could sit and watch the sun go down along the horizon, a place where we could fall asleep and rise each morning to the sound of distant crashing waves. Our perfect beach home includes hardwood floors (wide plank, please), lots of overstuffed white sofas (all the better to fall asleep with our favorite novel after a long day out in the sun), a few earthy accent pieces (we can't get enough of this ceramic basket and this jute rope ottoman), and of course, an oversized coral chandelier that brings the ocean in. Add some hints of gold (this etagere should do the trick!) , a whole lot of bright white paint, high beamed ceilings, tons of natural light, and we're there. Our ideal beach house decorating style looks a lot like what you'll see below: whites, neutrals, soft, luxurious fabrics, plus wide open spaces, plenty of light, and the perfect mix of friends and family. We could easily get carried away designing an entire beach house in our minds, but for sanity's sake, we're starting with the epicenter of any great vacation home: the living room. The perfect white sofa, a ocean-meets-land chandelier, a pop of gold glitz to shake it up a little, plus fun seaside accents to spice up the space. What's not to love? Click the links below to shop!
