We often select living and dining areas for our weekly Rooms We Love feature, and for good reason: in the design world, these are the spaces that get the most love. Kitchens, too. After all, our living and dining areas are the central hubs of family life. They're where we spent the most time, where we gather over a bubbling pot of chili or a big bowl of kettle corn. They require various considerations when it comes to interior decisions: what size couch does a family need? How many people will they want to seat at Thanksgiving? Are they looking for wear and tear tile, or marble, which can (and does), unfortunately, absorbstains? These main living areas get a whole lot of love out in the design world, so much that sometimes, one of the best rooms in the home, doesn't.
The bathroom, if you ask us, is the most neglected room in the interior design space. And that's not to say that beautiful bathrooms haven't been designed. Beautiful bathrooms abound. But rarely do we see a roundup of beautiful bathrooms on our favorite shelter sites. Rarely do we hear people praising tile surrounds or mirror choices. And yet, the bathroom, when done right (as it has been above) can be one of the most beautiful, serene, relaxing, and special spots of the home.
Seriously, we could spend many an hour whiling away our time in the tub below. Can we talk about this gorgeous color scheme, and how a bubble bath in this room might just make our lives complete? We think it's time to show the bathroom some love. Who's with us?
