We’ve talked a lot before about the importance of serenity in the bedroom. As the place where you rest your head, your bedroom needs to be not just serene, but also calming, a place where you feel safe, like your cares can melt away. This is harder to do than you might think, mostly because what’s considered calm and serene for one person might not be so for another. Working with an interior designer is a great way to figure out what sort of design scheme you might want to employ for your bedroom – or you can do a bit of perusing on Pinterest. As you start to pin, you’ll see a theme emerging. This is likely the design style you’re most drawn towards. For us, when it comes to the bedroom, we’re big into neutrals: white, gray, and pale colors that make us feel like we’re floating on a cloud. Which is why we loved this room when we came across it on Pinterest. There’s nary a hint of color in this room, and yet, thanks to layered, lush textures, it feels like a fully-formed space. There’s a definite hint of French Country in this space, what with the whitewashed beams on the ceiling and that gorgeous antique mirror. The curlicatures of French Country, however, are complimented by the clean lines of the oversized linen headboard, and the modern nightstand. We can see this bedroom in a stately California mansion, or a tiny cottage off the coast of France. No matter where it lands, one thing’s for sure: we could get a good night’s sleep in here.
