A look we’re loving lately? Cottage farmhouse decor in kitchens. It’s a style that’s been blowing up Pinterest lately, and for good reason: it’s the perfect homey space for the family to gather. The best cottage farmhouse kitchens feature hardwood floors, white wood cabinets with simple hardware, wooden beams, farmhouse tables…it’s all about the natural elements. If the floors aren’t wooden, they’re slate, and if the counters aren’t butcher block, marble will do. Simple is best in farmhouse kitchens – you want to ensure they feel cozy, like grandma’s kitchen filled with the smell of warm apple pie. Vintage elements and industrial lighting are welcome, the more personality your cottage farmhouse kitchen has, the better! Below are a few of our favorite examples of cottage farmhouse decor used in kitchens. You’ll see that each kitchen puts its own individual mark on the style, but the common elements can be seen throughout. Wood, slate, lots of white, a hint of mint here and there, and plenty of vintage accents – these kitchens are all have it in spades.
This kitchen is one of our absolute favorites:
There’s little that embodies cottage farmhouse style more than this stunner above. That table! We die for it. Love it as much as we do? This one is quite similar. Reclaimed wood with a hint of French Country plays perfectly off the white cabinets and slate floors, not to mention those giant beams…and can we talk about that chandelier?
Above, we have the same white cabinets, but this time, they’re paired with marble countertops and industrial lighting. Again, we’ve got a farmhouse style table, plus open shelving that makes the space feel light and airy.
Ah! A hint of mint:
The cabinets here are similar to the kitchens above, but this time, they’re painted a lovely mint shade. Pistachio ice cream, please! The mint looks lovely paired with the brass hardware, doesn’t it? Then we’ve got industrial style lighting, and again, a farmhouse table. That seems to be the consistent theme – you can’t have a cottage farmhouse kitchen without a farmhouse kitchen table!
