Industrial Loft - Wall Decor

Industrial Loft style was born in the artist studios of Manhattan’s SoHo district and perfected in reinvented factories and warehouse spaces around the world. In converting these places into residential spaces, the walls were usually the first to get a makeover in the form of a simple coating of white paint. Soon, the grime and dust of old industrial work areas gave way to bright, white spaces bathed in light.

Inevitably, these pioneering artists were hanging their own work on the walls along with a unique aesthetic of wall décor. Raw, black and white photographic prints in oversized proportions were an instant classic as were vintage school, factory, or train station clocks. The found object aesthetic inspired partly by creativity and partly by necessity, created a unique approach to wall-mounted bracket shelves created from vintage metal and safety glass.
