Industrial Loft - Floor Baskets

Before artists and creative types colonized the old factories, warehouses and textile mills of American cities like New York, these spaces were purely for manufacturing and work and filled with objects created from no-frills utilitarianism. As the decades passed and times changed, those same pieces, which had sat abandoned on factory floors, would eventually be adopted by the pioneers of the loft movement and put back to work. One such item to be reincarnated was the wire floor basket. Smart materials and simple designs meant true longevity for these workhorses of yesteryear. In loft style homes they can be found holding newspapers and magazines, helping to organize a laundry room, delivering serious clutter control to bathrooms and bedrooms, or even getting the kitchen organized in a pragmatic and minimalist style.
