Did you catch the redesign of Lauren Conrad's Paper Crown offices on Domaine? We did, and with great pleasure. Here's the deal: Domaine's creative mastermind, Estee Stanley, was tasked with breathing new life into clothing line Paper Crown's offices, and breathe new life into it she did. As a former reality TV star, Lauren Conrad knows that looks matter, so when it came time to make over the offices of her Paper Crown line, she handed the reigns over to Domaine. Lauren wanted the offices to mimic the look and feel of her youthful fashion label - but be streamlined and functional (as any office space should be!). She needed spaces to work, spaces to conduct meetings, and spaces to showcase the line itself. Says Conrad, "We had to get creative with where we organized everything because we have so many samples and paperwork coming in and out. We had to figure out a way to fit it all in there without it looking cluttered."
It seems the team has achieved that goal, the resulting space is streamlined and chic, but still ultra feminine like Conrad herself. The offices came ready with gorgeous exposed brick and hardwood floors, all the better to make some serious design magic. In the drafting room, the team created a floor to ceiling real-life pinboard constructed from particleboard, soundproofing cork, and Ikea ticking strip fabric, then hung it from the wall with sturdy hooks. They then enlisted timeless gourd lamps, white parsons desks, and glossy white storage units - all things that could easily be moved if needed (Paper Crown's office is a rental).
Says Domaine: A primary task of the redesign was to change the functionality of Paper Crown’s three rooms so that they better met the needs of the business. In reimagining the workspace with a more conversational floor plan, Lauren’s team now sits together, rather than in separate rooms. “Now that we’re all in the same office, it’s nice that we’re not shouting from room to room,” says Lauren. Complete with a beautiful rolling racks, a feminine Louis XIV settee, and layers of overlapping Persian rugs, the showroom of the Paper Crown office makes a more distinguished first impression.” We brought sales in-house recently, and we’re taking a lot more meetings in the space,” says Lauren, “so what’s really great is that we were able to dress up the space a bit, elevate it, and kind of make it a bit more of a professional setting.”
