Hi cuties! Can you believe it’s already August? Only a couple more weeks to soak up the summer season! I for one am looking forward to plenty of activity time with my kids and hopefully squeezing in some beach days before the season wraps up.

Kathy’s Favorite #1: Copenhagen, Denmark
Earlier this summer I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Copenhagn, Denmark! This city is such a delightful destination and so full of design inspiration and moments of every day beauty. Plus, it has amazing museums and food!
For me, a huge highlight was the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art! As someone in the design field, art museums are huge source of creative inspiration for me and I love seeing how different museums all over the world approach and present art. I highly recommend this stunner of an art museum if you’re lucky enough to visit Denmark anytime soon!

Regular readers know how much I love my beauty brands…and Ilia is definitely one them! With fall right around the corner, I can’t help but mentally starting to shop for autumnal knitwear for when the weather turns crisp! One of my favorite female-founded (and mom-founded!) fashion brands to shop for fall knits and sweaters is Ulla Johnson!

Kathy’s Favorite #4: Designing Your Life: How to Build a Well-Lived Joyful Life by Bill Burnett & Dave Evans
It may seem obvious, but here at KKH, design thinking is built into our company’s DNA. But just what does that mean? I love the way that the book Designing Your Life breaks it down: “The same design thinking responsible for amazing technology, products, and spaces can be used to design and build your career and your life, a life of fulfillment and joy, constantly creative and productive, one that always holds the possibility of surprise.”
Basically, this book draws a link from physical design to conceptual design and how we design habits, routines, and systems. And makes the case for how design thinking can help us all live a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
Kathy’s Favorite #5: Oly Studio Athena Modern Classic Doe White Resin Sculpture
Finally, and last but not least...I always love sharing the KKH items that I actually have in my own home! If you’re a regular shopper or reader here, you probably recognize this Oly Studio doe bust from the many photo shoots we’ve done in my apartment!
I love this piece for its aura of understated whimsy and it’s one of the decorative objects in my home that I consistently get the most questions about! If you aren’t familiar with Oly Studio, they’re a brand I love for their sense of wonder and delight, alongside artisanal craftsmanship.
