Hi there, cuties! For the February 2023 installment of our new Kathy’s Favorites series (click HERE to check out January debut post) I am basically writing a love letter to some of my favorite things for you all. Yes, I know Valentine’s Day has come in gone…but I can’t help it, I’m still feeling the love!
“This month I’m so excited to bring you the scoop on the beauty products, accessories, books, destinations, and KKH must-haves I’m absolutely obsessed with right now. Enjoy!”
PS: Love the dress I’m wearing in the photo above? Ditto—it’s one of my fave Zimmermann pieces and you can shop it HERE now!
Kathy’s Favorite #1: It Cosmetics CC+ Cream Full Coverage Foundation with SPF 50+
Chances are that you don’t need to take my word for it that this It Cosmetics CC cream is amazing! This product is a popular cult favorite for a reason—it comes at fantastic price point, is available in 22 different skin tones, and looks great while also actively enriching your skin health.
I’ll break it down for you: This CC cream is packed with hyaluronic acid for skin hydration and anti-aging, SPF to protect from UV rays, and vitamin to sooth and smooth your skin. And it’s truly full coverage without having to cake it on. My makeup routine would be in shambles without this foundation!
Kathy’s Favorite #2: Amanyara Resort, Turks & Caicos
I recently returned home from an absolutely wonderful and restorative trip to Turks & Caicos with friends—just call it adult mid-winter break! On top of just feeling so grateful to be able to travel and enjoy quality time with loved ones in a beautiful locale, I have to give a big shoutout to our accommodations at the Amanyara Resort!
All of the Aman resorts are unmatched—they’re so beautiful and full of special details; the Amangani in Jackson Hole is another favorite of mine if you have your sights set on a mountain getaway instead of a beach one. But back to Amanyara: Picture white sand beaches, turquoise waters, a sprawling nature preserve, and an awe-inspiring menu of wellness treatments and experiences and adventure opportunities for all ages. It’s officially one of my No. 1 vacation properties out there!
Kathy’s Favorite #3: Bandolier
It’s true: Like many of us, I am surely on my phone more than I should be…but with my beloved Bandolier crossbody, at least my phone looks super-chic while glued to my hand! In seriousness though, I’ve had my Bandolier (I love the “Julian” style, but they offer several in different colors and for every smartphone size) for years and I’m never without it!
Bandolier is the true epitome of form and function working in harmony. I love the sleek look that feels very #Fashion, but I also love how this item serves a tangible purpose. It’s also worth noting that I’ve had mind forever, use it every day, and it looks practically new!
Kathy’s Favorite #4: Talking to Strangers by Malcom Gladwell
Everyone on my team knows that I’m an avid read—and audio-book listener—and nothing makes me happier than sharing my favorite book picks for business insights, productivity, and different perspectives on life. I’ve been on a big Malcolm Gladwell kick lately and am recommending Talking to Strangers to everyone in my life!
I particularly enjoyed the audio-book version of this book because it uses many of audio clips from the people mentioned in the book, which I felt really added a lot to my experience and understanding of the key points in this work. I don’t want to give it away, but you can expect humbling stories about how poorly we “read” other humans’ intentions.
Kathy’s Favorite #5: The KKH Madeline Sofa in French Green Velvet
Finally, I’m going to conclude my February faves with a very special pick from the Kathy Kuo Home assortment: Our Madeline Sofa! You’ve probably seen this sofa here on the Blog—I have it in my own home and it’s one of my favorite pieces to use in KKH Interior Design projects (check it out in our recent Nashville reveal and as featured in Country Living magazine).
This gorgeous sofa features luxe velvet upholstery, French country design details—like nailhead trim and brass casters—and super-supportive cushions. It’s a dream!
