Kathy’s September Favorite #1: The 2024 Real Simple Home
I am thrilled to share that, for the second year in a row, Kathy Kuo Home was a featured contributor to the annual Real Simple Home (you may recall that last year we worked with Bobby Berk on his living room design in a sleek Brooklyn high-rise). This year’s RS Home is a historic Brooklyn brownstone, beautifully resorted and modernized through the power of excellent design.
KKH contributed a wall mirror (shop similar styles below) to the sweetest powder room, ever designed by our friends, The Brownstone Boys! I am a Huge fan of everything that Jordan and Barry of The Brownstone Boys do, and this space is no exception. How perfect does our mirror look with the floral patterned Spoonflower wallpaper?

Kathy’s September Favorite #2: L’AVANT Collective
What’s better than a beautifully-design home? A beautifully-designed home that is sparkling clean from top to bottom! Kathy’s September Favorite #3: Zwilling Fresh & Save Vacuum Sealer
As I mentioned above…the new school year has started for my two kids…which means that I am fully in a new routine myself as a mom, between breakfast, lunch, and dinner prep, snacks for their various practices, games, and activities afterschool…oh, and snacks for myself, hehe! Long story short: I recently discovered the Zwilling Fresh & Save Vacuum Sealer set and it has changed my life!
The set includes one large vacuum food storage container, two small and two medium vacuum sealer bags for food, and one rechargeable vacuum sealer machine. This means that meal prep, saving leftovers, and packing snacks has become a breeze!

Kathy’s September Favorite #4: Smeralda Bottarga
As all of your regular Kuotes readers may know, I was fortunate enough to spend some time in beautiful Sardinia last month! In addition to the beautiful scenery, Sardinia is also home to some delicious Mediterranean flavors…I, for one, came home with a major taste for Bottarga!
Bottarga is, essentially, fish (usually tuna or mullet) that has been dried and grated into a seasoning using ancient preparation techniques—Sardinia is especially known for Bottarga, and Smeralda is a signature brand from the region. I literally stuffed my suitcase with it, but you actually can order it online.

Finally, as you know, every KK’s Faves list must include a book…and this month, since we’re already talking about quality ingredients and food prep tools, I’m thrilled to share about a cookbook I’ve been loving: Sunday Suppers: Recipes + Gatherings: A Cookbook by Karen Morechai.
Not only is this cookbook full of swoon-worthy recipes, but it’s also beautifully designed and has a really wonderful ethos centered on the power of gathering together to connect and share a meal.
