We realized something the other day: we’ve put together plenty of design boards, but we’ve never, with the exception of a nursery here and there, created a design board to help our readers with kids room decor. Kid rooms are often the most fun to design because kids (and even teenagers) allow for more color, more pattern, and more… well, everything! The best kid rooms are the ones in which the designers aren’t afraid to play with them and have a bit of fun. This post is dedicated to girl room ideas—rooms that are creative and colorful and comfortable for a girl to grow up in.
A girl’s room is her safe haven and can be remembered for years to come. A girl wants her room to be inspiring and empowering. The perfect example? This one, designed by the ever-amazing Jamie Meares. Meares is pretty much our spirit sister when it comes to fun, funky patterns. The woman designs an eclectic bohemian room like no one else, and the room above, a pink paisley bedroom for a young girl, is no exception. We love the mixture of mercury glass, ceramic stools used as side tables, suzani-style bedding, and pink paisley wallpaper. We die for this room! It’s a bit colorful for most people’s tastes, and certainly, might be a bit much for an adult couple, but for a young girl, it all works.
We were so inspired by this look that we put together our own girl room ideas, with a few pieces from KKH and a few from Jamie’s own home store Furbish Studio.

I LOVE this pink paisley paper! Please tell me the name & maker!
Thank you for reaching out! We don’t have the source of the wallpaper, but please feel free to reach out to the designer of this space Jamie Meares.
