Welcome to the exclusive home tour of Ben Watts, an Aussie expat and fashion photographer who came across a small Montauk cottage a decade ago on a shoot for J.Crew. We were lucky enough to stumble upon this home earlier this week on Pinterest, a happy accident after we pinned not one, not two, but three rooms from this home as it circulated around the web. The source? A 2013 feature in Lonny Magazine.

Ben Watts Home Tour Stop #2 – The Bath
Fast forward ten years, and Watts has knocked down the original structure and replaced it with a new airy home complete with high-planked ceilings and hardwood floors. The laid-back, atmospheric furniture and design is fit for surfside living. To fill out the aesthetic, he’s also built a guest house and a pool.
Ben Watts Home Tour Stop #3 – The Dining Room
Rumor has it, Watts is the life of the party… We can see why. As quoted in Lonny last summer, “Nothing goes down better than glass of rosé – it’s a drink without pretenses.” We like the way you think, Mr. Watts. We’re big fans of rosé in the summer ourselves. Looking at Watts’ home, it is obvious that he’s an entertainer. His kitchen (pictured below) appears to seat at least six; his dining room (pictured above) seats ten.

Watts’ house reflects his beachside party nature. It’s a laid-back, low-maintenance home that is all hardwood floors, subway tiles, and tons of natural light. The natural materials of the homes bones play perfectly with the neutral rustic look that Watts curated, and fun, colorful accents can be found throughout. Below, Watts marries black-and-white tribal photography with an aerial beach shot from Gray Malin; a pinstriped daybed sits next to a perfectly lived-in black leather armchair. We’ll dub Watts the Master of Mix.

Then again, if anyone deserves the title Master of Mix… we’re thinking it’s this guy:
