Hi there, cuties! It’s hard to believe but the time is has come to start planning holiday tabletop designs for the upcoming celebration season (and this is your PSA to shop the KKH Holiday Shop now for all your gifting and decor needs)!
When it comes to holiday tables, I love the idea of going a little bit non-traditional with colors and motifs. To kick off the season, take a look at an oh-so-merry and bright tabletop design crafting by our friends at Hamptons Picnic Co., with Kathy Kuo Home dishes, linens, and decor.

Mixing Dishware Patterns & Motifs
The holiday season is a time to be festive and joyful—and that can translate on a holiday tabletop as a chance to mix and match your dishware. I love the idea of using a whimsical charger—like the leafy one you see here—and layering a mix of solid and patterned plates on top.
“If you stick with a consistent combination of colors, and make sure that every dish has a distinct function, you’re sure to get a look that’s unique, seasonal, and sophisticated.”
The geometric patterned green and white plate might otherwise look somewhat traditional, but with the charger and the pinecone topper, the look is polished as well as ecclectic.

Spread Joy With Seasonal Decor
One of the most fun aspects about setting your table for a holiday dinner party is being able to have fun with some with seasonal decorative objects, candles, and centerpieces.
“I love setting the mood with candlelight and giving a nod to nature with some glass evergreen trees, pinecones, and abundant florals in an array of inviting colors.”
Just because it’s wintertime doesn’t have to mean you need to skip the fresh blooms! I think an unexpected burst of color from an artful floral arrangement is the perfect way to infuse brightness into a holiday tabletop.

Use Glassware To Add Festive Sparke
I am a big proponent of always using festive glassware and drinkware during the holiday season. Wether you’re hosting an intimate cocktail party or a full dinner party for your entire extended family, the holidays are a time to add sparkle with fun glasses.
“Colored glassware or even patterned cups and mugs are a great way to add both visual intrigue and a sense of playful luxury to your table during this time of year.”
Try mixing different colors and textures—maybe you go sleek and traditional for champagne flutes and then colored cut glass for your water goblets. In this holiday table here, the interplay of the berry and evergreen-toned glasses creates a jewel-like effect that feels both warm and upscale!

Adding Color & Texture With Table Linens
Finally, we can’t forget about tablecloths and napkins! Whether your personal style is more minimal or more maximal, chic table linens are a must. Try setting the tone with a more subtle tablecloth—like the blush shown here or even a rich burgundy tone—and then layer on contrasting colors and prints with napkins and placemats.
In this styled tabletop here, the floral patterned napkins feel like a really fun and unique pop of levity. They add contrast in a way that is still upscale and polished; it’s joyful and just a little outside of the traditional “holiday” box.
