Hello and happy New Year to all my Kuotes cuties! By now, you’ve surely heard the big news that Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2024 is Peach Fuzz (aka: PANTONE 13-1023)! in the interior design world, the Pantone COTY is always a fun announcement that helps kick the new year off with a bit of fun and playfulness.
“But just what color is Peach Fuzz? And how do you decorate and design with it without resulting in your home resembling a literal peach orchard?”
I see this color as the next iteration of the warm neutrals aesthetic. It’s actually extremely versatile and lends itself to a number of design styles—from coastal beach to French country to organic modernism. When paired with natural rust, beige, and copper tones, Peach Fuzz reads as subtly earthy and very nature-inspired; and when paired with other pastels it can read as very soft and feminine without the over-the-top effect you get from brighter pinks.
If you’re loving this subtle rosy-pink-meets-pale-orange shade, but need a little guidance before you bring it into your home, read on for my favorite tips on how to design with Peach Fuzz in different areas of the home. And when all else fails, make yourself a Bellini and wait for the inspiration to flow!
Add Peach Fuzz Perfection To Your Living Room
If you’re feeling called to go out and buy a peach-toned sofa, I’m not going to stop you…but…my advice for adding Peach Fuzz to your living room design has more to do with decorative details than anchor furniture. Think pillows, rugs, and coffee table decor.
Many pastel colors—peach included— really take on a new dimension when rendered in rich textures, so looking for peachy decorative pillows in materials like velvet and linen, or with textural elements like pompoms or fringe, is going to really add something special to your living. The same principle goes for patterned rugs with pops of peach and decor items like floral arrangements and sculptures.
“Finally, a palette of golden tans and browns and versatile off-whites and taupes is going to pair with Peach Fuzz in a really cohesive way, so look for anchor pieces in these warm neutrals (like the oatmeal-hued slipcover sofas and light brown coffee table shown below).”

Create A Peach Fuzz Infused Bedroom Oasis
I personally find Peach Fuzz to be such a soothing color that just naturally works well for creating a serene bedroom sanctuary. The combination of lightness and warmth really make it a nurturing and calming color to have in a bedroom.
If your vision of your bedroom design leans more traditionally feminine, go ahead and fully infuse peach tones into your lighting, rugs, and wall art—it’s a subtle enough color that it will function as a neutral and bring brightness and depth to the room. But if you want to start with smaller elements, try sheets, duvet covers, decorative pillows, and luxurious throw blankets in variations on Peach Fuzz for just a hint of sunset-worthy glow for your space.
“If you’re wanting to add some contrast to your peachy bedroom color palette, try adding elements of copper, rust, terra cotta, and even darker mahogany for a really striking combination that still feels soft and relaxing. Sweet dreams are sure to follow!”

Bring The Serenity Of Peach Fuzz To Your Home Office
When I’m working remotely, I need my home office to feel clean, fresh, and organized—it’s all about feeling productive and inspired, as well as comfortable. I love natural wood in lighter and warmer shades for home office furniture—which pairs beautifully with Peach Fuzz-infused wall art, and peach-adjacent hues for items like shelf decor and desk accessories.
Check out the photo below of a home office the KKH Interior Design Studio designed for a client in lower Manhattan this past year. The eye immediately goes to the gorgeous trio of peach-toned wall art, followed organically by the warm wood desk. There’s a feeling that pops of peach are tying the whole room together in a way that feels elegant and subtle, rather than matchy-matchy.

Refine Each & Every Decor Detail With Pops Of Peach Fuzz
Finally, I want to underscore that you can fully embrace the fun of Peach Fuzz without engaging in a full-scale home makeover! It’s okay to start small when experimenting with a new color and audit the detail of your home first before you decide you need a peach filter on every room.
Try brining some Peach Fuzz tinted glassware to your bar cart, or adding a peachy pink candle to your coffee table or nightstand. Using smaller decorative details to test how a color works in your home is a great way to tell if you react more positively to warm colors or cool ones and to bold statements or subtle ones, as well as to suss out where your home could use small refreshes in order to feel more inviting or more cohesive.
“For me, the most interesting part of examining the annual Pantone Color of the Year is in pushing myself to see color in new ways.”
All colors have associations and stereotypes tied to them—how many of you immediately thought Easter eggs, peach gummies, and girly nursery designs when you first heard “Peach Fuzz”?—and it’s always very freeing to break away from those notions and open your home to new design possibilities!
