You know I love sharing my design tips and behind-the-scenes looks at my life, project reveals, and Q&A with fellow design pros…but lately I’ve had the urge to chat more personally and share some of my favorite things–books, beauty products, fashion picks, destinations, you name it!

Kathy’s Favorite #1. Glow Recipe Plum Plump Hyaluronic Cream
First of all, I just have to say that I am completely obsessed with Glow Recipe and all of their skin care products. Their founder is a friend of mine and I love that the brand is committed to celebrating and showcasing real, un-retouched skin, clean and ethical formulas, and giving back. Love, love, love!
Though I’m a fan of all of it, my fave Glow Recipe product is the Plum Plump Hyaluronic Cream is my No. 1! I always have this cream stocked at my home and love the way it makes my skin look and feel. It’s a lightweight moisturizer that just makes your whole face feel hydrated and awake.
Kathy’s Favorite #2. Alcove Beds
As an interior designer, I’m always browsing Instagram, Pinterest, and my favorite shelter publications in search of inspo. My favorite recent obsession came from a roundup of alcove beds in Frederic Magazine!
There’s just something so whimsical and charming about alcove beds. I love the combination of coziness and sophistication and I am hereby setting a professional goal to work one of these beauties into an interior design project in the near future!
Kathy’s Favorite #3. Dope Snow Apparel
I may not have shared this here on the blog lately, but I’m an avid snowboarder and I love to hit the slopes with my kids. We had a great snowy vacay in Park City, Utah, over the holidays and are planning to take to the mountains again for their spring break this year. Of course, when you’re out in the snow, high-quality gear is a must…enter Dope Snow Apparel!
Founded in 2006 by two brothers from Sweden, Dope Snow Apparel offers amazing quality at a super-affordable price. The colors and patterns are all versatile, modern, and chic and I love that the brand is really driven by community and consumer feedback. I love the the Cloud pattern, shown below in a snowboard jacket and in leggings!
Kathy’s Favorite #4. Obsessed: Building a Brand People Love from Day One by Emily Heyward
I am a relentless reader–I always have a book (or two) going, especially when it comes books on business, entrepreneurship, and leadership. My latest KKH Book Club pick is Obsessed: Building a Brand People Love from Day One by Emily Heyward.
Emily Heyward is the founder of the mega-successful branding and marketing studio Red Antler and in this book–which I actually literally sent to my team members because I just can’t emphasize enough how insightful it is–pulls the curtain back on how catchy companies, like Allbirds and Casper, build loyal and meaningful followings.
Kathy’s Favorite #5. All Things Pewter
My final fave for January is going to come as no surprise to anyone who has ever met me, been to my apartment, or read the blog before…yep, it’s pewter! Pewter is my all-time favorite material for dinnerware and barware. I love the look that is both rugged and polished. There’s a certain old-world sophistication that remains accessible and appropriate for everyday use.
