Naples Project: The Great Room
The great room is the first room you encounter when walking into the home with impeccable sight lines of the pool. We really wanted an upscale and tailored look while keeping with the coastal comfort that pervades the home. To achieve this, we laid the room around views into the pool by creating symmetry and choosing low-backed, tight seat sofas in a custom basketweave fabric. Our accent colors were navy and green, so we chose to pair the ivory sofas with the elegant barrel backed silhouette of our Perla armchairs in a custom navy upholstery. There’s this ever so slight bamboo trim detail on the chairs that’s so subtle yet so pretty!
You’ll notice that all of the pieces in this room, like the consoles and our Orson cube side tables, emphasize straight lines and a geometrical element that’s complimented by the fun, Diane von Furstenberg navy print drapery. The room doesn’t lose sight of its Naples personality though. You can find the coastal vibes in the details—from the mosaic abalone shell in the side tables, to the green and navy palette, to the (much more overt) ripple wall art. But our favorite part? It might have to be the Buddha sculpture gently watching over the space (and outdoor pool!) as he reaches a state of nirvana.

Naples Project: The Primary Bedroom
Providing comfort and serenity are key to any master suite. Our Naples client only had two requests: create zen, and choose a chandelier that didn’t cause them to stare at the bulbs all night. We thought the Starlight pendant was just the perfect scale for this large master suite—and it has a drum. As far as achieving zen… Don’t you just want to collapse into this bed and take a midday nap? It’s our stunning Miller Upholstered Platform King Bed! P.S Kathy herself owns this bed, that’s how much we love it here, AND you can customize the height of the headboard if your ceiling heights call for it!
One way to really give a bedroom a lush and cozy feel is to create a textural atmosphere, which we did here by wrapping the ENTIRE ROOM in a light sage sisal wall covering… even on the recessed ceiling! The trims are Alabaster by Sherwin William, which is one of my favorite whites; it’s that white that’s been touched by the sun without actually being colored at all. It’d also be amiss to not point out our Nia Velvet Chaise resting in the corner. The curved arms and tall back not only give it a luxe silhouette, but the chaise also makes for the perfect reading spot on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Naples Project: Kids Bedroom
The kids’ “fish bedroom” was one of our favorite rooms in the Naples house to design! Twin beds are so restrictive, so we opted for full size beds so the kids could also feel comfortable in their beds as they got older. First of all, can we PLEASE talk about this amazing custom fish wallpaper we wrapped around the room? The whimsical, nautical motifs continue with a white shiplap wall, porthole mirrors, a nautical rope chandelier, and a driftwood table lamp between the beds. But it’s the all-white elegance and additional modern details that makes this bedroom remarkable. We’re obsessed over our Welch wingback chair and the crisp, custom beds and benches you can order directly from KKH.
For the detailing in this Naples home, we actually took a leaf from Maya’s bedroom here in NYC and dropped in a lush, oversized fur pelt rug to roll around on. Embroidered green chevron drapes from Jeffrey Alan Marks and custom shams along with the burlap custom named pillows completes the look. I just adore this room!
