This past year, when cute-as-a-button blogger Olivia Rink was looking to put the perfect finishing touches on her modern classic NYC bedroom (she recently moved from Chicago and had been working on the room for about six months) design, we knew we had exactly what she needed.

Sophisticated Accents
To add sophistication to her bedroom motif, Olivia accented her cozy bed with square pillows featuring a silver color and modern print. A trio of framed geodes over her silver-and-gray bedspread added a subtle pop of color and an element of the natural world into the urban look. Plus, shagreen lamps on either side of the bed not only tie the color theme together beautifully, but also serve a functional purpose.
Style Meets Function
One thing that we really loved about how Olivia approached adding finishing touches to her bedroom design was the fact that every object not only looked amazing, but also had a distinct purpose. Because she was working with a small space, it was essential that she make use of every inch of the room in order to get the most out of it.
Olivia dressed her workspace and bookshelf area with a chic tray to hold keepsakes like framed photos, house plants, and candles; and used her windowsill space and lower wall space to house eye-catching bookends and shimmering decorative sculptures. In mixing in a variety of shapes and metallic tones–which really showcase her personal style–Olivia was able to create a unified visual theme while also using her space super-efficiently and making it feel like home.
