Hi cuties! Today we are devoting the Kuotes to how to select the best coffee table for your living room space and your individual design style! We all know that the coffee table is one of the hardest working piece of furniture in any living room—aside from literally providing a surface for your coffee mugs (or cocktail glass or champagne flute!), these versatile tables are key factors when it comes to the overall design and functionality of the room.
Whether you plan to pile your coffee table with coffee table books, style it artfully with a decorative tray, or simply keep it clear as a space for beverages during gatherings, finding the best coffee table should be a process that’s easy and fun!
Read on for our handy guide to some of the most popular coffee table styles—and the KKH coffee tables we love most in each category. I’m sure you’ll find the best coffee table for your home in no time!
Best Coffee Table: Classic
Let’s start with the classics! When searching for a coffee table for your home, it’s always a smart move to start by looking into classic coffee tables if you aren’t quite sure which style is for you. A classic coffee table is generally going to be a rectangle shape, feature a neutral color, and be free of any major adornment. In short, a classic coffee table is going to blend in nicely with your existing decor scheme.
We’ve selected the Tricia Industrial Loft Grey Concrete Rectangular Coffee Table (pictured below in our Far Hills design project) because of its versatile look and feel, as well as it’s quality craftsmanship. Though this best-selling coffee table has a somewhat of an industrial look, it’s easy to mix and match with other styles like Modern Farmhouse and Mid-Century Modern. Its sleek look makes it the perfect canvas for styled vignettes on its surface.

Best Coffee Table: Nesting
What’s better than one perfect coffee table? Two perfectly coffee tables that nest together…perfectly! Enter the category of nesting coffee tables. Available in just about every design style, these cuties offer visual interest because they can be paired nested together or arranged in your living room separately as two distinct tables.
When it comes to our fave in the Nesting category, I am absolutely obsessed with our Khari Modern Classic White Marble Glass Top Gold Nesting Oval Coffee Tables (pictured below). This set of nested tables is beautifully crafted from marble, tempered glass, and aluminum.
“I really love these tables because they match, but they’re not exactly the same—you get one marble top and one glass top, one circle and one oval. Prepare to have a blast mixing and matching!”

Best Coffee Table: Two-Tier
I love a nice two-tier coffee table because it offers an additional surface that you can use for storage or styling as you see fit! I love the idea of doing a beautiful styled vignette on the top tier and then using the bottom to stash throw blankets, remote controls, and stacks of books or magazines.
“Choosing the a fave coffee table in the Two-Tier category was a tough one for me and my team, but we are thrilled to shine a spotlight on the Wynn Modern Rustic Lodge Chunky Reclaimed Wood Rectangle Rectangular Coffee Table!”
This rustic stunner (shown below) is crafted from reclaimed wood, which gives it a really unique look and adds character to a design that otherwise be very minimalist, and its two tiers offer ample space for a variety of uses.

Best Coffee Tables: Drum & Block
If you like the look of home furnishings that really have something of a gravitational pull and serve as a true visual focal point, a drum coffee table or a block coffee table might be just the ticket.
I’ve grouped these two together because they’re similar in substance, just different in shape (a block coffee table being square or rectangle shaped, while a drum is circular or oval shaped, of course). Both are solid, or at least opaque all the way through, and typically rest right on the floor without legs.
We named the Lexington Tatum Modern Classic Grey Elm Wood Cube Square Block Coffee Table (shown below in our Nashville design project) as our pick in the Block division, and the Rod Rustic Pieced Wood Half Moon Round Coffee Table (shown below in our Far Hills design project) for the Drums. Both of these pieces are eye-catching without being over the top and showcase a gorgeous natural wood grain.

Best Coffee Table: Statement
Our final category is perhaps the most fun: Statement coffee tables! For the design style that defies categorization, a statement coffee table is always a great choice. And there are so many choose from—just think of your favorite aesthetic, materials, or shape…I promise you there’s a coffee table that fits the bill.
My choice in this category is the Nina Coastal Beach Brown Rattan Round Round Coffee Table. I was inspired by just how cute it looked in our Westport, CT, design project (pictured below). I love that this table is beachy but it’s also very glam and almost looks like a piece of art unto itself.
