It’s Cal here, and I don’t know about you, but something I do every day is scout the internet for fun and interesting articles to read on interior design. And while we hope that you find a lot of those articles here at The Kuotes, we know that there’s a massive amount of content published each and every day. With so much content to sift through, it can be tedious and time-consuming to find all of the articles worth reading. Luckily for you, I get paid to do that, and we’ve decided that starting this year, we’re going to publish our favorite interior design content here on the blog! No more endless scrolling through Twitter and Facebook. At your week’s end, the cream of the crop will be right here waiting.
Here are this week’s picks:

It’s that time of year. And this article, featured in Elle Decor, gives an unforgiving and much needed reality check on all of the stuff that you don’t need cluttering your home. A few personal favorites: “selfie sticks,” “plants that don’t fit your personality,” and “furniture and objects associated with exes.”

“Just 6 years ago I was not sure where this whole, for lack of a better word, ‘blogging’ or ‘youtubing’ thing would take me, but needless to say I’m glad that I stuck it out because now I’m living what once was my dream.” We’re good friends with Chriselle here at the Kuotes, and we love her always inspirational (yet always real and down to earth) stories that she shares on her blog… and, of course, all the great style and fashion!

We found this kitchen through our good friend, Kristy Wicks, and we were absolutely blown away by the results: clean, simple, bright, airy, modern, beautiful. The list of praiseful adjectives seems infinite. We also love the thoughtful organization put into the design. There’s nothing more refreshing than practical beauty. Get your weekly inspiration by checking out this kitchen!

We’re not sure if we’re in love with the scary title of this article, but the content proves to be very important. After a strangely warm, El Niño-influenced December, we are all a little bit behind on making sure our home is winter ready. Follow these useful guidelines offered up by House Beautiful to ensure you’ll be warm and safe all winter long.

We know what you’re thinking, but no, nobody at Kathy Kuo Home is getting married… But we are entering wedding season as we prepare for upcoming spring and summer weddings! One of our favorite wedding bloggers of all time is Style Me Pretty. There’s nothing they do that is…well, pretty! Check out their recent post on a colorful Rancho Los Lamas wedding. Such a stunning setup! Oh, and you might see more wedding ideas arriving on the blog soon (hint, hint!).

If you’ve been keeping up with the Kuotes, you’ll notice that I (Cal here) am OBSESSED with movies, so film allusions frequently haunt our posts. But whether or not you’re a movie buff, this general interest pick is a quick read everyone can enjoy. Think of your favorite movie. Could you ever live in one of the homes featured in that film? This article covers the cost of some of cinemas’ most beautiful residencies.
